Ladies Captain - Chris Harrison
At present we have more than 120 lady members with a well organised and well supported committee under the leadership of our Ladies' President. We are always pleased to welcome new members and take special care to make it as easy as possible for them to settle into the club.
Tuesday is the regular day for our section to get together and throughout the year there are many opportunities to play in competitions as well as to play socially. There are also opportunities to play competitively at weekends throughout the year.
We have 3 teams who compete in the Cotswold and District Ladies Alliance in Division 1,2 and 3. The majority of these matches for these teams take place on a Monday afternoon although a few are scheduled for weekends. The ladies also have a great friendly team who have lots of fun playing other clubs in Gloucestershire. On Sunday afternoons throughout the summer there are friendly Mixed matches both home and away against other clubs in the County, and there are also mixed events within the club.
As you can see, we have a very active group of lady golfers with a wide range of social and competitive events. If you are interested in joining our club we would like to meet you. Please call the office who can put you in touch with the relevant member of our committee.
Juniors Captain - Isabel Ovens
Cotswold Hills has been awarded Golf Mark, which officially recognises that an accredited club is junior and beginner friendly.
The club professional is readily available to teach beginners and experienced players of all standards and holds junior group lessons on Saturday mornings.
Junior members of Cotswold Hills enjoy a full programme of competitions and matches throughout the summer and like any member can make full use of the club facilities.
Seniors Captain - Andrew Kirby
CHGC has a Seniors Section open to all male members of CHGC over 55 years of age subject to payment of a £3 annual membership fee.
The Section currently has over 200 members and aims to promote friendly competition and good fellowship.
The Seniors Section has a calendar of 28 friendly match fixtures against other local golf clubs and internal events with the Ladies and Junior Sections. Participation is open to all members of the Section regardless of handicap.
In addition there are singles and pairs knock-out competitions played through the summer months and regular roll-ups on Monday and Thursday mornings throughout the year. Internal competitions are held for five Seniors trophies and seven monthly stableford competitions held during the summer provide additional opportunities for members unable to play in weekend competitions to maintain an active handicap. Highlights of the calendar are The Seniors Open and The Seniors Invitation Day, both fully subscribed in 2014, a testament to the quality of our golf course and the professional manner in which the events are run.
For more information about the Seniors Section please refer to the notice board in the locker room and we hope to welcome you to the Section in the new season.
